I was so thrilled to be featured as the Nokia Lumia Instagramer of the Week for April 5th 2014 on the Nokia Connects blog. I’ve only had my Nokia Lumia 1020 for about 3 months, and am very new to the community, so to be contacted by the editor, and then have him say such nice things was just awesome. I received so many kind compliments throughout the week from around the world. Truly motivating!

I had a hard time choosing the 10 images for the feature. These are the final ten that I went with.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is a truly remarkable device. I was as little worried about switching to a Windows phone after using an Android devices previously. I will admit there was a learning curve and that there are fewer apps at this point for Windows devices, but I’ve adjusted well and am a big fan now. The latest release of the fhotoroom app is truly excellent. Looking forward to creating more great images this year as the seasons unfold.

There is a great community developing around this device and some truly talented people from around the world are being featured weekly. Go check ’em out!

  1. Those are great images.
I particularly like the image at the skating rink. Awesome!
I’m in dire need of a new phone – although can’t afford one just yet – but will definitely keep the Nokia in mind.

    1. Thanks for your kind comment, Ardean! If you’re looking for a phone with a great camera The Nokia Lumia 1020 is a fabulous choice. It uses the Windows OS, so that’s the only thing I caution people about with it. If you’re a Windows 8 user, then it’s a no-brainer. But if you’re a Mac/iPhone person there would be a bit of a learning curve – fewer/different apps available, Instagram app is still in BETA, etc. But, there are new apps and updates happening all the time, so it’s getting better every day. :)SD

  2. Hi! How do you upload original pictures through instagram? Mine is so different because the resolution is changing whenever I upload pictures on instagram. 🙁

    1. I presume you are using a Windows Phone? Just find the image you want to upload to IG and choose “Share” through the options menu. Choose Instagram Beta (you’ll need download the Instagram Beta app to your phone first) and follow from there. Not entirely sure if this is what you are asking, but it’s as easy as that.

  3. And also, I can’t upload pictures through my windows in wordpress. 🙁

    1. I don’t use my phone for WordPress at all, so I can’t help you there. I prefer to work in WP on my laptop so I can properly see what I’m doing and make sure I have edited and renamed all my images first so they are properly web-friendly.
