This pic has been getting a bit of love from users on Pinterest and Flickr lately. It’s a great example of how sometimes a spur of the moment shot can be a good as one that is painstakingly planned. I just happened to notice it in someone’s front garden as I was walking down a street in my neighbourhood, grabbed my camera out of my purse and snapped a few shots. As it happens Lily of the Valley is one of the meanings of my name, Susan, or at least that’s what I have read. The Wikipedia page for Susan mentions lily as the root for the name in Hebrew and Persian and also indicates that the Lotus flower is also connected to the etymology of the name in Middle Egyptian. Anyway, I guess that’s why I always notice this particular flower and I’m glad so many like it – over 3500 repins/likes to date.
